Offered in this lot is a handwritten receipt of a shipment from the Harbor of Boston sent to London by Declaration of Independence signee John Hancock. The receipt was written in 1763 for three hogs heads, six quentals dumb fish each in canvas covering, and other supplies to a Mr. Jonathan Barnard. All writing was done in Hancock’s hand and was written in black pen ink. This item comes with a LOA from University Archives.
