The Hartford Dark Blues were a short-lived National League team, active from 1874 to 1877. The Dark Blues were a charter member of the National League in 1876 before moving to Brooklyn to play as the Brooklyn Hartfords in 1877. This oil lamp figurine depicts a baseball player in a batting stance made of bronze and measures approximately nine inches tall. The player is mounted on a round white patterned marble base. There is a metal pipe extending upwards and connected to a lamp and the bulb holder for a total height of approximately 25 inches. This figurine ensemble appears to be in good condition and is loose in some spots. This is an excellent 19th century collectible.
