Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by SGC. Ring Boxing Hall of Famer, International Boxing Hall of Famer. Although his name was made most popular by another famous fighter, nearly 35 years after this incredible card's release, the 19th Century Jack Dempsey who's pictured on the offered N28 example was a stout competitor during his era. Nicknamed "Nonpareil" owing to then-unmatched qualities of dominance, the featured Jack Dempsey won 51 fights (losing four and reaching a draw in 11) between 1883 and 1895. His career and his life were cut short by tuberculosis at age 32 in 1895 – about five months after the "Manassa Mauler" was born. The outstanding paper antique presented here honors the Nonpareil, and the hobby, as a paragon of its issue, and it's a tangible, visual tribute to the inherent beauty of Allen & Ginter's "The World's Champions" classics. A showpiece, in strictly assessed Near Mint to Mint-plus condition.
