Presented here is a contract for the Amity Canal Reservoir and Improvement Company signed by the founder of the Dow Jones and co-founder of the Wall Street Journal, Charles Dow. The 14 x 17-inch number 362 mortgage bond for $500 ($14,790 in 2021) was issued by Chase National Bank. The contract features detachable coupons that could be paid semi-annually on October 1st and April 1st for the principal and the bond paid in full by April 1st, 1901. The contract was signed twice by Dow in black ink, and several of the coupons have been detached. The contract contains creases from being folded, a slight tear on the right side but is in great condition. The item comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (AG90347) for the signatures.
