The 1903 Boston Americans, who would later be known as the Red Sox, won the first ever World Series between the rival American and National Leagues, the two competing professional baseball leagues of the early 20^th century. Led by Cy Young, the Americans would win the American League with a 91-47 record, setting up a championship series with the National League’s Pittsburgh Pirates. The Americans won the best-of-nine series five games to three.

                This offered Official American League William Harridge baseball has been signed by two members of that inaugural World Series champions team – Hall of Famer Cy Young and Freddy Parent. Hall of Fame umpire Tommy Connolly, who was one of the umpires in the 1903 World Series, signed his name in blue pen across the sweet spot making it three total signatures. Parent and Young signed their names on the adjacent east panel in darker blue marker. The ball is in good condition and the stampings are solid. This baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE05256).
