Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among thirty-three copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just eight examples have been placed at a higher tier. Not only is this one of the most attractive Christy Mathewson cards ever produced, it would certainly be mentioned in any conversation to determine the most beautiful card of all. This horizontal "E" card features a detailed picture of "Big Six" in his pitching follow-through, with a lush, orange-hued sunset in the background. The card has Matty's name (misspelled, "Matthewson"), position and team printed on the front, with advertising on the reverse. This example is well-centered with great colors. Light wear is evident at the corners, and the back is boldly printed. A very desirable card that retains tremendous visual appeal, in Very Good to Excellent condition.
