This is one of just four examples at its tier (with only seven graded higher) among a total of more than 200 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting. With its classic and highly visual portrait, this card's sublime design effectively unites the charming feel of vintage baseball with the flair for delicate illustration only found in T206. The crisp "A's" logo on Bender's uniform, and the texture of the shirtfront, create a very rewarding effect of gentle contrast with the portrait's mellow, lime-green background. The focus and facial-tone shading in the player's likeness are clear and compelling. Centering is commendable in the extreme, and a trace of wear is seen only at the card's lower left corner. This is a remarkably fresh card, blessed with attributes not often witnessed among the hobby's treasures. Near Mint condition.
