Graded 84 NM 7 by SGC. “Sweet Caporal - 350 Subjects” back. This is the only example at its tier (with none graded higher) among a total of thirty-six copies recorded in SGC's census reporting. (The next-best specimen rests substantially below, at the VG/EX level.) Following the variations of Demmitt and O'Hara, in terms of rarity, comes this card of Kid Elberfeld. Elberfeld was approaching the end of his career when he was originally pictured in the T206 set as a member of the New York Americans in 1909. The following year he shifted to Washington, where he stayed for two productive seasons. It is obvious by the rarity of this team variation that the majority of his T206 cards were produced in 1909, before his franchise allegiance changed. Visually, this is a striking collectible, with its bright red background set against clean white borders. Near Mint condition.
1909-11 T206 White Border Kid Elberfeld, Washington, Portrait – SGC 84 NM 7 "1 of 1!"
