William Howard Taft, the 27th President of the United States, has signed this 13 x 17-inch Presidential appointment resting inside a 21 x 25-inch frame. Taft, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a Republican who also served as the Governor-General of the Philippines and as the first Provisional Governor of Cuba. He held the office of president from 1909 to 1913, later serving as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court from 1921 to 1930. This Presidential appointment was conferred upon Louis R. Ball for his promotion to Captain of Cavalry in the United States Army. The document is labeled “THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” across the top. The seal of the Secretary of War appears illustrated at the bottom. A blue Secretary of War seal is affixed to the bottom left corner. President Taft signed the document in black ink. The document rests upon a red matte with blue and white trim and comes ensconced in a beautiful black frame. The Presidential appointment signed by President William Taft comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
