Presented here is a framed portrait photograph of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States. A staunch progressive, Roosevelt attained office following the assassination of president William McKinley. Roosevelt would win his only successful presidential election in 1904 after serving three years in McKinley’s stead. Roosevelt attempted to run for president again in 1912 after forming the short-lived “Bull Moose” Party.

This photograph, which measures 11 x 7 ½ inches, has been signed in black fountain pen by Roosevelt. He added an inscription “To Mr. Jamie Rupert / with the regards of / Theodore Roosevelt”. He dated this photograph to July 18th, 1909. This places the signature as having been signed just three months after Roosevelt left office. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A03411).
