The 1909 World Series saw the Detroit Tigers reach their third consecutive World Series, facing off against Honus Wagner and the Pittsburgh Pirates for the MLB crown. This was the third straight Fall Classic for Ty Cobb and the Tigers after two straight losses in five games to the Chicago Cubs. This series would go to seven games, but an 8-0 win by Pittsburgh in the decider brought the first World Series title to Forbes Field.
Offered here is a ticket to Game 4 of the 1909 World Series at Bennett Park, the home of the Detroit Tigers. The home team made good on their advantage in Game 4, winning 5-0 behind George Mullin’s 10-strikeout, complete game shutout. Cobb knocked in two runs with an RBI double in the fourth inning while Donie Bush and Oscar Stanage contributed Detroit’s other three runs. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by SGC.
