Inaugural Great American Trading Card Auction- Closing October 1

Graded NM 7 by PSA. Hall of Famer. This is the only example at its tier (with four graded higher) among a total of 79 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting. Since tobacco inserts of the day that feature Honus Wagner's image are so difficult to obtain, his caramel cards are particularly sought-after by vintage-card enthusiasts. The offered piece was issued by the Standard Caramel Company in 1910, during the height of the great player's career. A compelling, throwing-pose likeness of the Flying Dutchman, with a blazing red background, highlights the cardfront of this extremely desirable commemorative; acceptable and natural wear is restricted to the corners. The illustration's clarity is impeccable, and the card's reverse is perfectly clean. An incredibly desirable Wagner depiction, in Near Mint condition.
