Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC. Hall of Famer. This is one of five examples at its tier (with none graded higher) among a total of twenty copies recorded in SGC's census reporting. A key card in a very rare production is presented. This showpiece Honus Wagner collectible hails from the universally admired and much sought-after D304 release of 1911-14. General Baking Co. collectibles are distinguished by scarcity of legendary proportions. And, being delicate in construction as well as generously sized at 1-3/4" x 2-1/2", the items were made unfairly perishable by their very nature. This specimen features an especially pleasing illustration surrounded by credibly balanced white borders. A clearly printed caption, "Honus Wagner, Pittsburg, Natl.," occupies the lower-edge margin. Uniform and not-unsightly wear is restricted to the corners and edges. On the basis of rarity and visual appeal, it can be argued that this career-contemporary Wagner memento merits a substantially higher, emotionally derived assessment. Aesthetically superior Very Good condition.
