Graded GD+ 2.5 by SGC. Hall of Famer. The Tigers' fiery manager, Hughie Jennings, was known for personal drama, both on and off the field. This black-and-white photo postcard recalls one particularly tragic Jennings incident, wherein his automobile landed upside-down after leaving a Pennsylvania bridge during the off-season. Jennings survived (in spite of multiple injuries, including a skull fracture and three broken limbs), but this image of the accident's aftermath nevertheless induces a shudder. The scarce, unmarked piece concedes moderate evidence of circulation, primarily at the full-bleed edges and corners. Good-plus condition.
