Graded 96 MINT 9 by SGC. Hall of Famer. This is one of just two examples at its tier (with none graded higher) among a total of fifty-one copies recorded in SGC’s census reporting. The Cracker Jack issue, on the basis of an aesthetic brilliance that yields unparalleled visual appeal, is clearly the collectible of choice when the rare opportunity to obtain a high-grade copy presents itself.

The offered piece is, simply, a beautiful card. Its design provides a dynamic "ready-to-bat" pose of Ty Cobb framed by the issue's unmistakable bright red background. Its red is the true shade, far more lustrous than crimson, and more dazzling than scarlet. Artistically defined shadows give depth to the painting of the great competitor, and its extraordinary projection of detail reveals the Detroit team logo on Cobb's cap, nuances of the uniform and shoes, and even the unmistakable focus in the subject's eyes. Stylized letters identifying the card as one of the "Cracker Jack Ball Players" decorate the top edge of the design's boundary. The pristine back provides a biography of the Tigers' indomitable warrior, along with instructions delineating how to obtain a full set of 1915 Cracker Jack cards by mail. An eager collector undoubtedly obtained this card through the send-away opportunity, as its surface reveals no hint of circulation. The item's colors are perfect, totally unsullied by any exposure to the sticky treat to which the hobby is forever obligated for the card's existence. This collectible's bold hues, combined with virtually flawless registration, afford tremendous pleasure for the eye. Its precision of clarity is exemplary. Centering is of notably high quality, particularly for this notoriously alignment-challenged issue. The corners conform to the most stringent interpretation of the MINT grade, and betray almost no evidence of contact with anything but the card's own aura. The item's reverse printing is clear and unblemished. This is a splendid example of one of the hobby's true crown jewels. The in-person observer will rejoice at the sight of this card's image, and its spectacularly maintained Mint condition.
