Babe Ruth Auction to Benefit Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/6/2016
Encapsulated and graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. This is one of two examples at its tier (with none graded higher) among a total of just four copies recorded in PSA's census reporting. It didn't take Babe Ruth long to reach the World Series! In Ruth's first full season in the big leagues, Babe and the Boston Red Sox faced the Philadelphia Athletics in the Fall Classic. The contest represented by this rare stub was won by Boston, 2-1, behind Eddie Shore's complete game performance. Boston took the Series, 4 games to 1. (Ruth went hitless in his one 1915 World Series at-bat, and he was not called upon to pitch.) Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
