Offered here is a grand stand box seat ticket from Game 5 of the 1917 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants. The White Sox took the title in six games to win the second World Series in franchise history and their last until the 2005 team swept Houston in the Fall Classic. Game 5 took place at Comiskey Park, with Reb Russell starting for Chicago and Slim Sallee taking the hill for New York. The Giants chased Russell before he made an out and built a solid lead before the White Sox stormed back with a pair of three-run innings in the seventh and eighth frames. Eddie Collins, Shoeless Joe Jackson, and Happy Felsch all had three hit outings for Chicago, while Felsch and Chick Gandil drove in two runs each. Red Faber pitched a perfect two innings to close out the game and earn his second of three wins in the 1917 Fall Classic. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (23421860).
