Presented in this lot is a collection of four Cincinnati Reds season passes to Redland Field from the 1918, 1921, 1922, and 1923 seasons. The 1918 Reds were managed to a 68-60 finish by Christy Mathewson and Heinie Groh, with Mathewson leaving the team with 10 games left in the season to enlist for service in World War I. The National Baseball Hall of Famer Edd Roush and the Pro Football Hall of Famer Greasy Neale patrolled the Redland Field outfield and second-year pitcher Hod Eller led the ballclub with 16 wins on the mound. This pass was issued to the Rev. James O’Regan. It has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20993711).

The second pass is for the 1921 season, which saw the Reds finish sixth in the National League. Five batters hit over .300, including Roush at a team-high .352 average, while Eppa Rixey led the Reds with 19 wins. Dolf Luque and Rube Marquard added 17 wins apiece for Pat Moran’s squad. This pass was issued to the “Brothers of Mary” organization, and it has been encapsulated and graded a EX-MT 6 by PSA (20993695). The penultimate pass is for the 1922 campaign. Cincinnati went 86-68, good for a second-place finish in the Senior Circuit under Moran’s leadership. Rixey won a staff-high 25 games, and 1913 National League MVP Jake Daubert hit .336 with 22 triples. This pass was issued to Rabbi Solomon B. Freehof. It has been encapsulated and graded a VG-EX 4 by PSA (20993694).

The final pass in this lot is from Cincinnati’s 1923 season, when they replicated their second-place finish from the previous season. Edd Roush hit .351 and catcher Bubbles Hargrave posted a .333 mark while calling games for three 20-win pitchers. Dolf Luque led the rotation with a 27-8 record and an ERA of 1.73, followed closely behind by the 21-win Pete Donohue and the 20-win Eppa Rixey. This pass was issued to Rev. John V. Stephens. It has been encapsulated and graded a EX 5 by PSA (20993692).
