Each stub has been graded VG 3 by PSA. Both of the offered stubs are the highest-graded examples of their types documented in PSA's census reporting, and each is a member of a low single-digit total population (just three and five copies, for Game 4 and Game 6, respectively).

These vintage ducats were on the scene, in the stands, physically present - while history was being made - at two 1919 World Series contests between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox. The silent witnesses stood by as their owners observed game action that would be the subject of conversation for nearly a century (and doubtless beyond), and the sight of them inspires today's viewers to reflect on a match-up that would forever alter the course of a national passion. Neither the tickets, themselves, or the fans who held them could have been aware of the subterfuge that ran as a simultaneous undercurrent to activity on the diamond.

The pair includes:

1919 World Series Game 4 Stub - PSA VG 3 - Saturday, October 4, 1919. At Comiskey Park in Chicago (Attendance: 34,363), Jimmy Ring bested Eddie Cicotte in what would today be called a "pitchers' duel." Pro Football Hall of Famer Earl "Greasy" Neale had a double for the Reds, and knocked in a run. Chicago's "Shoeless Joe" Jackson also recorded a double in this game. The final score was 2-0, Reds, with Jimmy Ring the winner and Eddie Cicotte taking the loss.

1919 World Series Game 6 Stub - PSA VG 3 - Tuesday, October 7, 1919. At Cincinnati's Redland Field (Attendance: 32,006), the White Sox were victorious (5-4) in 10 innings. It was Kerr over Ring in the box score. "Shoeless Joe" had two hits, and Eddie Collins and Jackson each drove in runs. Neale clubbed a triple for the Redlegs, but Chick Gandil knocked in the winning run to clinch the Sox’ win.

Both of these stubs reflect a pleasing state of preservation that belies their status as paper heirlooms of considerable age. They concede natural evidence of handling, and the stub for Game 6, in particular, appears to have been rather harshly judged. A historically important, extremely scarce pair, in minimally Very Good condition.
