For 11 solid seasons, Babe Ruth not only completely dominated the game of baseball, but also re-wrote the record book almost every time he stepped up to the plate. During the 1921-1931 time period, The Babe clubbed an incredible 508 home runs, leading the league in slugging 10 times, home runs nine times, walks eight times, RBI three times - all the while averaging a majestic .355.

This Louisville Slugger Babe Ruth professional model bat was manufactured during the magical 1921-1931 window when Babe Ruth was single-handedly reinventing the National Pastime. Just as you would expect from a Ruth gamer, the bat shows heavy use. A crack in its handle has been restored and the barrel is covered with ball marks and abrasions along with cleat imprints. The front barrel displays some checking from repeated ball contact and the knob has been chipped. An “S” has been carved into the knob, the significance of which is not known. The stamping on the center brand and barrel is clear with the exception of the “George” in the signature that is somewhat lighter. The bat measures 33 ¾ inches in length and it weighs 33.6 ounces, both non-standard measurements found on Ruth bats though MEARS has opined that a loss of three ounces from age is possible. The bat comes with a LOA from MEARS (310006) for the game use and has been graded an A5.
