After establishing himself as one of the greatest outfielders in Red Sox history, Tris Speaker moved over to the Cleveland Indians as a playing manager. Within a year of taking the helm of the Tribe, “Spoke” led the Indians to a World Championship in 1920 and then battled the Yankees for the pennant over the next half-decade. This bat dates to Speaker’s 1922-1923 seasons with Cleveland during which he led the AL both years in doubles and hit a combined .374 with 28 homers.
This Hillerich & Bradsby Pro Model bat shows tremendous use with many ball marks and abrasions on the barrel along with cleat imprints throughout. The handle has the remains of a coat of pine tar and the center brand carries the "WEATHER SEASONED HAND BONE RUBBED" logo stamp. A museum-worthy bat from the man who set the standard for Red Sox outfielders and brought winning baseball to Cleveland. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13686) and MEARS for the game use.
