Often referred to as "The House that Ruth Built", Yankee Stadium, is one of the most recognizable sports venues in the world. Constructed between 1921 to 1923, the Stadium was home to the New York Yankees during there 1920's Dynasty Teams that featured Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth, up until the remodeling in 1973 that saw the recent retirement of legendary Yankees such as Mickey Mantle. The wooden seat was present for Don Larsen's World Series perfect game, Roger Maris' 61st Home Run, and Mickey Mantle's 500 Home Run as well as many other World Series Clinching games. The seat is a single seat and shows its nearly 100 year age, with a Yankee Blue paint job keeping it looking fairly fresh and protecting the natural and original wood that lies underneath. Across the back of the seat the number "22" is painted in black stenciled lettering. For a Derek Jeter fan, this seat provides double the enjoyment. These seats, while once readily available are disappearing from public sales fast as many have been mis-kept, left in basements or garages, or simply being scrapped. The seats origin from Yankee Stadium is without question although no additional documentation accompanies the chair however.
