Jose Nasazzi, the composed and imperious central defender for Uruguay, wore these soccer boots at the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics. Nasazzi, the team captain, stymied countless opposition attacks in the Olympics, with Uruguay allowing a measly two goals against in the tournament’s five matches. The dominance of Uruguay in the Olympics began the era of South American dominance over world football, as Uruguay went on to win the 1928 Summer Olympics, the 1930 FIFA World Cup, and the 1950 FIFA World cup in historic fashion.

Nasazzi is widely regarded as Uruguay’s greatest soccer player after a dominant career internationally, and in Uruguay’s vaunted Primera Division. Nasazzi played for Lito, Bella Vista, and domestic powers Nacional in a nearly 20-season career. With Nasazzi as captain, la celeste claimed four South American championships in addition to their litany of global titles.

These offered soccer cleats are made of brown leather and are free of any visible maker’s marks. The high-top cleats are laced. Four bars for traction on the soccer pitch are attached to the soles of each cleat, with one circular cleat located under each heel. These historic cleats belonging to a world champion many times over are in great condition! This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
