Graded VG-EX+ 4.5 by PSA. Hall of Famer. This is one of less than three dozen copies recorded in PSA's census reporting. In 1924, Willard's Chocolate of Toronto produced its blank-backed "Sports Champions" cards, featuring a wide, international range of accomplished athletes. Willard's used very soft cardboard in the creation of its collectibles (which has resulted in easy susceptibility to small packaging and handling faults), but this "key" entry is only minimally affected by the imperilment built into its construction. The item's evocative batting portrayal is bright and clean, and its back bears almost no trace of product staining. This is a seldom-seen and wonderfully interesting vintage depiction, in Very Good to Excellent-plus condition. **As a point of reference on value, the last 1924 Willard's Chocolates Babe Ruth PSA VG-EX+ 4.5 example sold at auction in 2011 for more than $4,750.**
