Presented in this lot is a ticket to the first fight between Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney on September 23rd, 1926 at Sesquicentennial Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The fight went the 10-round distance, with the younger Tunney declared the victor by unanimous decision over Dempsey. Tunney claimed Dempsey’s The Ring, NBA, and lineal heavyweight titles before stopping Dempsey a second time in their famous “Long Count” fight in 1927. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20993712).
