These two blank-backed sheets of cards measure approximately 7" x 11-3/8"; each one displays 25 subjects in a 5-card-by-5-card arrangement. The pieces' identical layout is quite orderly, with thematic rows headlined by five Baseball Players (#'s 6 Ruth, 7 Scott, 8 Frisch, 9 Hornsby and 10 Vance) and followed, proceeding downward, by equivalent numbers of Actresses, Actors, Athletes and Boxers. The sheets are very clean with notable interior subjects such as #'s 37 Chaney, 38 Weismuller and 39 Hagen presenting at a particularly high level. Cards along the sheets' borders concede slight degrees of superficial "attic toning" and inevitable and unobtrusive spots of edge chipping. A very scarce and visually engaging pair of "strip card" relics! Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
