Ruth's "own" candy venture, this sepia-toned piece – showing a prized autograph in the making – is titled, "The King of Swats." The item's technical faults are largely confined to the left-side and top-edge periphery, and do not impair the charming photograph. Very Good-plus condition, with especially favorable display quality. Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
