Guillermo Stabile bagged eight goals in the 1930 FIFA World Cup to lead all scorers. The Argentinian forward scored his country’s second goal of the World Cup Final against Uruguay as the 1928 Olympic silver medalists were defeated by the host nation 4-2. Stabile, a star in Europe with Genoa, Napoli, and Red Star Paris, never earned another cap for Argentina after the 1930 World Cup, although he would manage la albiceleste 127 times, a national record. This offered trophy takes the shape of a bronze soccer boot on a green stone pedestal. A plaque on the pedestal is etched with “1er Campeonato Mundial De Football / F.I.F.A. / Guillermo Stabile / Goleador / Montevideo 1930”. The trophy comes with a letter of provenance. Please note that the "foot" partially swivels, but is still fully intact.
