The final match of the 1930 World Cup saw the hosts Uruguay face off against archrivals Argentina for the honor of being called the first World Champion. Uruguay scored first, through Pablo Dorado in the 12th minute, but Argentina found an equalizer eight minutes later before going ahead 2-1 in the 37th minute. The second half turned out to be all Uruguay, with La Celeste picking up three unanswered goals to clinch the World Cup title with a 4-2 victory at Estadio Centenario. Offered in this lot is an offset tin plate printing of Argentina midfielder Luis Monti contesting a headed ball against Uruguay captain Jose Nasazzi. Attached to the reverse side of this tin plate printing is a magazine photograph of the moment in question. The tin plate printing originates from the archives of Mundo Uruguayo magazine, and measures 6.75 x 4 inches. It is in good condition. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
