The final match of the inaugural FIFA World Cup took place on July 30th, 1930 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay. The host nation qualified for the finals thanks to a 6-1 defeat of Yugoslavia in the semifinals, while Argentina, also Uruguay’s opponent in the 1928 Olympic finals, reached the final game of the World Cup with their own 6-1 win over the United States. In the final match of the tournament, Uruguay overturned a 2-1 halftime deficit with three unanswered goals in the second half to claim a 4-2 victory as the final whistle blew. With this historic victory, Uruguay became triple world champions and the undisputed kings of global soccer. Offered in this lot is a ticket from the 1930 World Cup Final in Montevideo.
