The 1930 World Cup crowned a six-year run for Uruguay as the greatest soccer nation on the planet. Winners of the 1924 and 1928 Olympic gold medals, Uruguay was the natural choice to host the inaugural FIFA World Cup at the gleaming Estadio Centenario in 1930. With a team featuring eternal legends like Jose Nasazzi, Jose Leandro Andrade, Hector Castro, and Hector Scarone, the Uruguayans destroyed archrivals Argentina 4-2 in the tournament final in Montevideo.

Offered in this lot is a fixture card from the 1930 World Cup issued by the South American wing of Bayer. The cover of the fixture card shows portraits of the Uruguay XI from the 1930 World Cup, as well as an image of Estadio Centenario. The inside of the fixture card shows the matches from the 1930 World Cup, while the back cover features a facsimile handwritten note from Jose Nasazzi, the team captain for Uruguay at both Olympics and the 1930 World Cup. This fixture card is in excellent condition save for a hole punched through the bottom of the lower right corner of the fixture card. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
