Offered in this lot is a silver-plated coin bank dating to the era of the 1930 FIFA World Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay. The home nation claimed the title in the first edition of the World Cup, defeating Argentina by a score of 4-2 in the tournament final. This coin bank takes the shape of a vintage, laced soccer ball, with the opening for coins located in the laces.  A metal chain is affixed to the inside of the coin bank below the opening. This item measures slightly over four inches tall while the soccer ball has a diameter of 3.25 inches. This coin bank is in good condition and is a thrilling memento from the early days of world soccer. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
