Offered in this lot are two ticket stubs from World Series games at Sportsman’s Park, the home of the St. Louis Cardinals, originating from the 1930s. The first ticket in this lot is from Game 4 of the 1930 Fall Classic between the Cardinals and the Philadelphia Athletics. The Cardinals won this game 3-1, with Jesse Haines defeating his Hall of Fame compatriot Lefty Grove in a pitched battle. Both pitchers went the distance and Haines added an RBI single in the third inning to help his own cause. The Athletics would go on to win this World Series in seven games for their second straight World Series title. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20876984).

The second ticket in this lot is from Game 3 of the 1934 World Series, which saw the Detroit Tigers come to St. Louis for a matchup against the “Gashouse Gang” Cardinals. Paul “Daffy” Dean threw a complete game for St. Louis in their 4-1 Game 3 victory while also adding an RBI on a second inning sacrifice fly. Jake Rothrock knocked in two runs for St. Louis and scored on player-manager Frankie Frisch’s fifth inning single. Hank Greenberg plated Detroit’s lone run on a ninth inning RBI triple. Unlike in 1930, the Cardinals would put an exclamation point on this series with an 11-0 demolition of the Tigers in Game 7. This Game 3 ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20989081).
