Beginning in the early 1930's, American ice cream lovers quickly became captivated by these thick-cardboard collectibles! The pieces performed a dual role as the protective covering for a single-serving dessert cup, while displaying a small picture on the underside. Many of the era's "household names" in entertainment, along with a few other subjects, are present in this array, which (with a couple of exceptions noted) represent the series' smaller size of approximately 2-1/4" in diameter. All of the lids in the offered group have retained the fragile edge "tabs" that allowed consumers to easily remove them from their cups. Overall condition is about VG to EX (some lesser); the items carry typical faults associated with packing, use and storage. The lot includes:
