This lifetime MLB silver pass was presented to Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan “in appreciation of long and meritorious service” to baseball. Bresnahan, who debuted in 1897, played 17 Major League seasons, with his seven years as a New York Giant representing his longest spell with any team. The Giants won the 1905 World Series, with Bresnahan hitting .313 in 22 World Series plate appearances. Bresnahan hit .279 in his lengthy career, peaking with an average of .350 in 1903 with the Giants. The Toledo native had deceptive speed for a catcher, stealing over 200 bases in his career with a single-season high of 34. Bresnahan retired after the 1915 season and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945.

This silver pass is etched with “Major Leagues of Professional Baseball Present This Lifetime Pass to Roger Bresnahan in Appreciation of Long and Meritorious Service”. The facsimile signatures of William Harridge and Ford C. Frick are located on this pass, which comes in a small leather carrying case printed with “Compliments of American League”. This pass is in good condition. Lifetime passes such as this one are highly sought after and rare, and the provenance of this pass from a Hall of Fame player who debuted in the 19th century makes this item that much more special. This pass comes with a LOA signed by Bresnahan’s grandnephew.
