Offered here is Ben Chapman’s twice signed New York Yankees Uniform Player’s Contract for the 1931 MLB season, his second year in the Major Leagues. Chapman had a career year in 1931, setting career marks in homers (17), RBI (122), and stolen bases (61) for the 94-59 Yankees. The Yankees signed Chapman for a salary of $7,500 for the 1931 season, his second of six and a half seasons with New York’s American League outfit. Chapman has signed this contract twice in black pen. Ernest Barnard, the American League President, has signed the back of the contract. The signature of Jacob Ruppert on this document has been deemed secretarial by PSA/DNA. This contract comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE05602).
