Presented is a 1932 Bronko Nagurski-Chicago Bears uniform player contract signed by the Bears star as well as legendary Chicago Bears owner and head coach George Halas. Nagurski led the Bears to the 1932 NFL Championship and he has signed his name “Bronko Nagurski” in black fountain pen at the bottom right of the one-page 8¼ x 10¾-inch brown paper document, while Halas signed “Geo. S. Halas Pres.” in blue fountain pen above Nagurski. The contract is inscribed in blue fountain pen above Halas’ signature “Chicago Bears Football Club Inc.”. The contract is also inscribed, in the upper right in blue fountain pen, “Player is to receive a bonus of $10 per game if club has good financial season.” The document bears the headline “The National Football League Uniform Player’s Contract” printed in black type across the top, with typewritten and handwritten amendments, including the notation that Nagurski will be paid $225 per game for the 1932 season, “and it is further understood and agreed that the first game shall be played without compensation, other than necessary hotel and traveling expenses.” The contract is dated July 22, 1932. The document was folded in eighths, and other than lines from the folding is in good condition. This item comes with a LOA from the Nagurski family.
