Presented is a 239-card complete set of 1933 R319 Goudey baseball cards, the king of the 1930s gum card issues. (Technically, the '33 Goudey release holds 240 subjects. This array is missing the impossible, subsequently distributed piece picturing Nap Lajoie, without which the 239-card basic version, offered here, is typically regarded as a "complete" set.) Six cards have been graded by PSA. This immensely popular and colorful edition has long been one of the most highly sought-after series from the 1930s or any other era. The cards' tremendous artwork and evocative period hues pay due homage to the issue's extensive roster of Hall of Famers. Highlights and graded cards include: #'s 1 Bengough, 19 Dickey, 20 Terry, 22 Traynor, 23 Cuyler, 29 Foxx, 31 Lazzeri, 42 Collins, 44 Bottomley, 47 Manush, 49 Frisch, 53 Ruth (PSA PR 1), 63 Cronin, 74 Rixey, 76 Cochrane, 79 Faber, 89 Speaker, 92 Gehrig (PSA PR 1), 103 Combs, 109 Cronin, 119 Hornsby, 127 Ott, 128 Klein, 138 Pennock, 144 Ruth (PSA PR 1), 147 Durocher, 149 Ruth (PSA PR 1), 154 Foxx, 158 Berg, 160 Gehrig (PSA GD 2), 168 Goslin, 181 Ruth (PSA FR 1.5), 187 Manush, 188 Hornsby, 202 Hartnett, 207 Ott, 216 Gomez, 220 Grove, 222 Gehringer, 223 Dean, 229 Vaughan, 230 Hubbell, 234 Hubbell and 240 Schumacher. Generally FR/GD to VG or finer (some lesser).
