Presented here is a 7 x 10-inch letter signed by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt had just begun the first of his four presidential terms in March 4, 1933, where he was tasked with lifting the United States out of the Great Depression that had ground the economy to a standstill. With unemployment at a record 25%, Roosevelt was beginning to implement his New Deal Programs intended to provide relief and recovery when he personally signed this typed letter to a Miss Henrietta Dale Wynn. The letter comes on official Franklin D. Roosevelt letterhead from his residence in Hyde Park, New York, and is dated January 20th, 1933. Franklin states in the letter that he remembers Ms. Wynn and thanks her for congratulating him on his election victory. Roosevelt then explains his gratitude and how he brought this letter to Warm Springs, Georgia, to respond to her. He closes the letter by saying “With cordial greetings from us all for the New Year, Very Sincerely Yours” and signed the letter in black ink. The item comes with the original 7 ½ x 4-inch envelope on official “Franklin D. Roosevelt” letterhead. The letter features two crease folds, is toned, and contains curled corners. Roosevelt’s gorgeous signature is bold and clear. The envelope contains numerous postal cancellation marks and contains toning and a three-cent stamp affixed to the top right corner. The typed letter signed by Roosevelt comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (K49500) for the signature.
