The 1933 New York Giants proved the franchise could indeed survive the loss of their longtime manager and standard-bearer, John McGraw. Bill Terry, personally chosen by McGraw to succeed him, led the Giants to the pennant and then on to the World Series where they easily defeated the Senators in 5 games. Terry’s crew included one of the best pitching corps of the early 1930s: King Carl Hubbell, Prince Hal Schumacher, and Fat Freddie Fitzsimmons. Add the ferocious slugging of Mel Ott and Bill Terry and you have the nucleus of the team that would go on to win back-to-back pennants in 1936 and 1937. 18 members of the 1933 World Champion Giants have signed this Spalding Official National League ball including Hall of Famers Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, and Bill Terry plus Freddie Fitzsimmons, Hughie Critz, Dolf Luque, Roy Parmelee, Hi Bell, Hal Schumacher, Jack Salveson, Harry Danning, Gus Mancuso, Blondy Ryan and Charlie Dressen. The ball shows just very light toning and the black fountain pen signatures read nicely on the warm leather surface. This ball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the signatures.
