The 1933 New York Giants won a hard-fought five game World Series over the Washington Senators of the American League. While the series finished in five games, the final two games of that series, played at Washington’s Griffith Stadium, were won by the Giants by one-run affairs, both settled in extra innings. Managed by Hall of Famer Bill Terry, the Giants rode the pitching of NL MVP and Hall of Famer Carl Hubbell, who tossed two complete game victories in Games 1 & 4, which included an 11-inning performance in Game 4. In Hubbell’s two starts, he did not allow an earned run in the 20 innings he pitched.

Offered here is an Official National League John A. Heydler baseball signed by 21 members of the 1933 World Champion New York Giants. Manager Bill Terry signed and inscribed his name in black pen across the sweet spot, signing it “WH Bill Terry” and inscribing “To Dwayne Lathan, Jr” and “World Champions 1933”. Also appearing on the sweet spot below Terry’s signature is the World Series and 1933 NL MVP Carl Hubbell. Signatures on this ball include Hall of Famer Mel Ott, Homer Peel, Bill Shores, Roy Parmelee, Lefty O’Doul, Hugh Critz, Blondy Ryan, Gus Mancuso and several others. The ball has been coated with shellac with some cracking present and the ball is toned. Please see the pictures on this lot to determine exact condition. This baseball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A69312).
