An exceedingly rare and desirable signed ball from the second All-Star classic that was held on July 10, 1934 at Yankee Stadium in New York. The OAL Harridge ball is very dark, brittle, soiled, and literally "coming apart at the seams" (as over the years one entire panel has become separated from the stitching). The ball is signed rather boldly ("7-8", some lighter) by 16 of the A.L. players including: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmy Foxx (sweet spot), Al Simmons, Lefty Gomez, Lefty Grove, Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Dykes, Joe Cronin, Bill Dickey, Ted Lyons, Heinie Manush, Fred Marberry, "Gen" Crowder, & Ted Lyons. Although there are a few signatures of players that weren't on the 1934 team (Lyons, Marberry, Crowder), the ball would still seem to be a 1934 All-Star ball as Heinie Manush was only on the 1934 team. Very desirable and strong signatures on a rough ball. PSA/DNA LOA. The game is well known among baseball fans for the performance of NL starting pitcher Carl Hubbell. After allowing the first two batters to reach base on a single and a base on balls, Hubbell struck out five of the game's best and most feared hitters - Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Joe Cronin - in succession, setting a longstanding All-Star Game record for consecutive strikeouts
