The Detroit Tigers won their first World Series in 1935, defeating the Senior Circuit’s Chicago Cubs in a back-and-forth six game series. Offered here is a ticket from Game 2 of the 1935 World Series, an 8-3 Detroit win at Navin Field. Tommy Bridges pitched a complete game for the Tigers to earn the win, while Hank Greenberg crushed a two-run homer to deep left field in the first inning as the Tigers tagged Cubs starter Charlie Root for four runs before recording an out. Charlie Gehringer went 2-3 with three RBI for the Tigers while Mickey Cochrane and Pete Fox notched the team’s other two RBI. The Hall of Fame second baseman Billy Herman knocked in a pair of runs for the Cubs in their losing effort. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20839178).
