The 1937 New York Yankees won 102 games en route to their ninth American League Pennant and sixth World Series title as they defeated the New York Giants in five games. This was the second of four consecutive World Series the Yankees would win between 1936 and 1940 as the team transitioned from the Murderer’s Row era into the years of the Joe DiMaggio led Yankee teams. DiMaggio and the veteran Lou Gehrig paced the Yankees in 1937, with each player hitting over .345. Gehrig collected 37 home runs and 158 RBI, while DiMaggio led the team in both categories, compiling 46 home runs and 168 RBI in his second professional season.

This offered Official American League William Harridge baseball has been signed by 26 members of the 1937 World Champion Yankees in black steel-tipped fountain pen. The stampings on this baseball date this orb between 1935-39 and Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig has signed his name on the sweet spot, an unusual occurrence for Gehrig, who normally signs his name on a side panel. Also, on the sweet spot is the clubhouse signature of Joe McCarthy. The north panel has the signatures of Arthur Fletcher, Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri, Bump Hadley, Kemp Wicker, Pat Malone and Joe Glenn. The west panel has the signatures of Jake Powell, Frank Makosky, Lefty Gomez (clubhouse), Hall of Famer Earle Combs and Joe Vance. The east panel has the signatures of Monte Pearson, Art Jorgens, Hall of Famer Bill Dickey, Ivy Andrews, Red Rolfe, Tom Henrich and George Selkirk. The south panel has the signatures of Jack Saltzgiver, Charles Ruffing, Don Heffner, Johnny Murphy and the clubhouse signatures of Joe DiMaggio and Frank Crosseti. This baseball displays toning and the stampings are light. The signatures are light but still readable. A great multi-signed baseball from one of the great Yankee teams and it comes with a LOA from JSA (X88538).
