The complete set of 50 cards is presented. This is the full array of "Famous Prize Fighters," distributed by F.C. Cartledge in 1938 to promote the company's "Knock-Out Razor Blades." The gallery of individual pugilists, featuring illustrations and text referencing historic and contemporary fighters who helped establish the sport in both the United States and Europe, has become an American hobby classic. The star-packed set's highlights include: #'s 18 John L. Sullivan, 22 James J. Corbett, 24 Bob Fitzsimmons, 26 Jack Dempsey, 29 Max Schmeling, 30 Joe Louis, 41 Benny Lynch, 43 Jack (Kid) Berg and 46 Max Baer. Overall condition is NM to NM/MT or finer, with just a few cards lesser. (A blue "Knock-Out Razor Blades" wrapper panel is also included.)
