Presented is a 1938 Pittsburgh Pirates multi-signed “Who’s Who in the Major Leagues” softcover book,  labelled the “World’s Series Edition” on the bottom front cover of the 6 x 9-inch paperback.  The six signatures, in gray graphite pencil on the first interior page, includes Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Honus Wagner (a coach on the 1938 Pirates), who signed “J. Honus Wagner”, as well as then-current Pirates stars Johnny Rizzo, Bill Swift, Ed Brandt, Bill Hirschman and Gus Suhr. The front cover of the 172-page book features blue and red printing on white paper with photos of Carl Hubbell, “Lefty” Grove, Paul Waner and Luke Appling, and facsimile signatures of other notable players and figures of the era. The front cover is captioned “Photos, Stories and Records of Every Player in the American and National Leagues”, with a 25-cent cover price. The back cover is also printed in red and blue on white and features photos of “Gabby” Hartnett, Charley Gehringer, “Dizzy” Dean and Lou Gehrig as well as more facsimile signatures of other notable players and figures of the era. The inside front cover features a black & white photo of the 1937 World Champion New York Yankees, while the inside back cover features a black & white photo of the 1937 National League Champion New York Giants. The interior pages are printed in brown ink on white paper. The book is in good condition, with clean pages. The front cover has a small brown stain in the lower left from the staple, and minor creases in the top right and bottom right corners. The book is copyrighted 1937 by B.E. Callahan Publishers of Chicago, Illinois, and is authored by Harold “Speed” Johnson. This item comes with a COA from JSA.
