Offered in this lot are 11 ticket stubs from MLB games between 1940 and 1946. The first ticket is from the Cincinnati Reds 5-2 victory over the Brooklyn Dodgers on May 15th, 1940 at Ebbets Field. Pee Wee Reese collected the sixth hit of his career in this game. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (25293057). The second ticket stub in this lot is from the St. Louis Browns doubleheader at Sportsman’s Park against the Boston Red Sox on July 28th, 1940. The Red Sox won both games, with Game 1 finishing 3-1 and Game 2 ending 13-10. The Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr hit two homers in Game 2, the 30th and 31st in his career. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21378060). The third ticket in this lot is from a doubleheader between the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals on August 11th, 1940 at Crosley Field. While the Cardinals won both games, the Reds went on to win the 1940 World Series. Enos Slaughter hit his 34th career home run in Game 1, a 3-2 Cardinals win. The next ticket in this lot is from the Boston Red sox 16-7 win over the Cleveland Indians at Fenway Park on August 19th, 1940. Jimmie Foxx hit his 497th career homer in this contest. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded a VG-EX 4 by PSA (17478841). The final 1940 ticket in this lot is from the Detroit Tigers 10-5 win over Cleveland on September 6th at Briggs Stadium. Bobo Newsom went 2-4 with two RBI and earned his 118th career win. Hank Greenberg hit career home run number 234 in this game. The next ticket in this lot is from the Boston Red Sox doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox on September 14th, 1941 at Fenway Park. In Game 1, a 9-2 Red Sox win, Foxx hit his 519th career homer and Dom DiMaggio went 4-5 with his 67th career double. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded a VG-EX 4 by PSA (21252357).
