Offered here is an Uncle Sam poster dating to about 1943, the height of World War II. This colorful paper artifact features an image of America's no-nonsense mascot against a blue background, his right index finger raised to his lips in a "shushing" motion. The poster's header reads, "I'm Counting On You!" with "Don't Discuss: Troop Movements / Ship Sailings / War Equipment" printed below. The poster is the work of artist Leon Helguera, and is neatly double-matted and framed. Routine mailing-fold marks are visible on the surface of the poster, which projects brilliantly.
