Offered is a framed display of Major League Baseball’s two historic “hit kings,” comprised of a signed check from Hall of Famer Ty Cobb, and a signed drawing of former Cincinnati Reds star Pete Rose. Rose has signed his name in blue marker over an illustration of him in his Cincinnati uniform at bat, with a head and shoulder cameo illustration of Cobb in a Detroit baseball cap in the right corner. Below the signed illustration is a June 23, 1941 personal check from the First National Bank of Nevada with the signature, in black ink, “Tyrus R. Cobb.”

Cobb spent 22 seasons with the Detroit Tigers, the last six as the team's player-manager, and finished his career with the Philadelphia Athletics. He set the record for most career hits (4,191) that stood for more than 50 years until Rose broke the record on September 11, 1985. He collected his 4,192nd hit, a single to left-center field off San Diego Padres pitcher Eric Show. Rose accumulated a total of 4,256 hits before his final career at-bat, a strikeout against San Diego's Rich Gossage on August 17, 1986. The Rose signature comes with a COA from JSA (DD94925). The Cobb signature comes with a full LOA from JSA (BB30795).
