In that last season before the war, the New York Yankees returned to the top of the baseball world by beating their long-time rivals, the Brooklyn Dodgers, in the World Series. The Series was made famous by the dropped 3rd strike that began a Yankees rally in Game 4. The momentum caused the Yankees to win Game 5 and the Series. 26 members of the 1941 World Champs have signed this Reach Official American League ball including Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio, Joe McCarthy (clubhouse), Phil Rizzuto, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, and Bill Dickey plus Johnny Murphy, Art Fletcher (clubhouse), George Selkirk, Tommy Henrich, Joe Schulte (clubhouse), Red Rolfe, Frenchy Bordagaray, Marius Russo and Ken Silvestri. The signatures are in strong black fountain pen that displays nicely on the warm tones leather of the ball. There is some staining on the ball, but none of this obscures or affects the legibility of the signatures. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (BB34261) for the signatures.
